March/April Newsletter

March/April Newsletter

We have had a very busy couple of months here at Fabric Sauce, hence the reason for combining March & April's Newsletter.  In March we completed the Running with Scissors Bags by Annie.com.  These bags have a lot of components and lots of sewing but are so worth it in the end. This bag was completed using the Wonder Fabric Range by Carrie Bloomston.  All the ladies who did the class were very happy with the end result.  I have just moved all the by Annie components to its own Category under Accessories and then by Annie Accessories, however her patterns can still be found listed under Patterns.  This will make it much easier for you to be able to shop and find her products. The weekend at the end of March seen our guest Tutor Lynne Wilson come and visit the shop for a workshop.  The girls were super excited about the workshop and Lynne showing them her techniques on the day.  We have seen a completed Origami Quilt finished from the workshop already which was a collaborative effort by a group of ladies to give as a gift for a stitching friend.  I am itching to get mine started as the Origami blocks were so addictive and such a great way to bust your stash. These were some random blocks chosen on the workshop day and sat together to show that anything works together...  Lynne's Chevron Pillow has also been a hit around the shop as well.  I made mine out of the new Redux Range by Guicy Guice, it was such a fast & fun project to make.  I am actually going to make some more, I enjoyed it so much. Also isn't that Fabric just gorgeous...Redux has arrived in the store and has been selling out fast.  I just love this new collection from him.  April seen us turn our hand to make the Zip it Up Bag by Annie.com, I think everyone agreed this was a much easier bag to complete after making the Running with Scissors Bag.  I love my bag to store all my Farmers Wife bits and pieces,  I am using it everyday. I made both sizes the small and the large but it the large I am using to store my Farmers Wife blocks and the book while I am still stitching this project, in saying that I will be stitching Farmers Wife for the rest of the year.  Eeek! Our Farmers Wife Quilt a long is progressing along nicely.  You can see more pictures on my instagram page or under the hastag #fsfw2019qal.  The quilts are starting to get harder to photograph which will continue to be a challenge as they grow bigger and bigger each week.  The finished quilt of 111 blocks is massive!  We will keep you all updated on how we are going. We have received loads of new stock since my last newsletter.  Lazy Days by Tilda is just one that come's to mind, it is divine, those lovely bright colours are simply stunning, but don't forget as new stock arrives I am constantly adding stock to the sale page as well.  I have just added quite a bit of Christmas Fabric at 40% off, so check it out if you are after a bargain.... I think that has covered most of the news around the shop.  I will be back again in a couple of weeks to show you another project I have been working on which will be available in kits.  So until next time stay safe and Happy Stitching! Mandyx
